ASCE Networking Meeting 01/12

  • January 12, 2024
  • Riverview Room - The Citadel

ASCE’s Charleston Branch welcomes you on Friday, January 12th, for an ASCE luncheon meeting. Presenting this month will be Tim Parker, PE, PMP, M. ASCE, with the SCDOT. Tim will be presenting on the heavy haul transportation engineering challenges.

The transportation of extremely large loads poses unique challenges for the heavy transport/rigging engineer. Some of these challenges will be discussed using two past projects as case studies. One is transporting a 133 ton transformer over-the-road. The second is overcoming multiple hurdles to transport a gas turbine weighing in excess 400 tons over 250 miles through two states.

We will be meeting in the Riverview Room on The Citadel’s campus this month.

And as a reminder for in-person meetings, we ask you to keep the health and safety of yourself and others in mind.
